Hope you are both doing well and let us know next time you are in the country!

ChrisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-834846832861622672.post-56963505800734390272011-04-27T19:49:41.311+02:002011-04-27T19:49:41.311+02:00PPC,

The clothing is clearly from a taller, thinner woman (you) but is baggy enough to fit. I certainly wouldn't be offended!

Steve Q, thanks - no I haven't heard that one yet.

BethAnne, oh my gosh. It is so cool that you found my blog! You are totally an inspiration to me. I loved your attitude and smile. Now I will have to correct what I said about you. I must have misjudged the time when I saw you - so cool you made it as far as you did. I hope your foot recovers quickly.

Karen, I'm afraid that compression socks probably wouldn't help with your mom's foot pain since pre-diabetes or diabetes does not cause decreased venous return, but it is the increased sugar in the blood that has a toxic effect on the nerves, causing pain. It is a really hard thing to treat. One natural supplement to consider taking is alpha-lipoic acid, which has been shown to decrease pain in a number of smaller studies.sea legs girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14782712411873234071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-834846832861622672.post-38012502984495273382011-04-27T18:47:36.211+02:002011-04-27T18:47:36.211+02:00Sounds like you had a great time despite all the p...Sounds like you had a great time despite all the pain. Enjoy Wisconsin in the springtime. That's my favorite time of year there!

I have a question about compression socks. My mom is pre-diabetic and has swollen, tingly feet. Would compression socks help her feet or do they just help with calf muscles?Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01212228308225991239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-834846832861622672.post-18032193313424760872011-04-27T17:31:18.511+02:002011-04-27T17:31:18.511+02:00Hey Sea Legs Girl, great to find your blog! Quick update about my run, I made it to the turnaround before the cutoff and headed back. Unfortunately, I injured my left foot around mile 19.5, and knew it was something I couldn't just run through. I ended up hobbling to mile 21 (the road with the hill) and one of the race coordinators found me and ran ahead to get my friend to pick me up. Even with my foot resting and recovering, I can't wait to run (and hopefully finish!) my next ultra! Hope to see you on the trails again!

~BethAnneAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-834846832861622672.post-8129148310298595962011-04-27T17:23:18.207+02:002011-04-27T17:23:18.207+02:00Have you had "Everyone You Know" by Now,...Have you had "Everyone You Know" by Now, Now as your running song of the day yet?SteveQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16943650844671498074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-834846832861622672.post-71900132460051055392011-04-27T02:42:48.579+02:002011-04-27T02:42:48.579+02:00Hey - well done. Now it is correct at 4:45. And Brian Peterson's time was also slightly off and was 3:59.

Steve, there was actually some chocolate that had already been sorted out by the time of the picture. Normally chocolate alone would be sufficient, but the cool eggs had crappy candy in them.

Ross, the reason I didn't mention the song of the day was I actually just listened to old stuff. I listened to almost all of The Shins' Chutes Too Narrow. I hadn't heard it in a good while.

Karen, I would love to go for a run with you and we will no doubt be back in the area :).

Helen. Dang, I thought about The Superior Hiking trail shortly after I wrote the post and didn't correct it. Sometimes I enjoy being ridiculed for my foolishness. SR and I have just been talking about moving to Duluth some day just so we can enjoy the Superior Hiking Trail on a regular basis.sea legs girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14782712411873234071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-834846832861622672.post-64448709798937081322011-04-26T10:32:44.575+02:002011-04-26T10:32:44.575+02:00It sounds like you ran smart and had a good experi...It sounds like you ran smart and had a good experience with the race.
