Typical Woman

Typical woman. I can't make up my mind. Here I am crawling back.

The thing is I love having a blog. This silly collection of thoughts, pictures and studies has become like my life's work. The thing is, again like a typical woman (?), I take negative comments so personally.

I apologize for the false alarm. I honestly didn't do it to boost readership. I'm just not that clever (and I try not to be that annoying).

And I couldn't let my blog end with people actually believing that I had an eating disorder. Now that I'm around my goal weight, I eat more than SR on a typical day. That does admittedly include lots of oatmeal, but also eggs, tofu, fish, bananas, salads, curry soup, etc. (those are some of my favorites). Sometimes I think SR's mom is concerned/disgusted by the massive volumes of food I consume, but I digress.

I had a great day today. I convinced the teachers at my Danish language school to let me take my final test early. And today I passed the test! The only sad part (besides, obviously saying good-bye to friends) is I have to give up my delightful train rides to Roskilde three days a week. I loved reading Politiken, drinking coffee and eating... oatmeal.

But the real reason I started writing the blog again was because of a song I heard on my i pod as I was running today. It made me so happy, I just had to recommend it (see below).

I can't promise the blog will stay the same. We're in a new country and I don't want the blog to become an anachronism. I guess we'll just see what life brings.

SLG- I'm glad you're back. I love reading your blog. I just read through some old comments and now understand why you needed a break. Whew! They would make anyone's head spin! I'm a 26 year old very pregnant ultrarunner and found a lot of inspiration in you in the beginning of this pregnancy (when everyone told me not to run). I've gained a lot of weight (35 pounds and a month to go) but have not taken any of the weight gain recommendations to heart, as I realize this is just my body doing what it needs to do (and my teeny tiny mom did the same thing). Anyway, thanks for keeping on keeping on. As long as you keep posting, I'll keep reading.

I'm glad you're back! Selfishly I was sad to lose a blog I've enjoyed... but I'm glad that you're keeping the blog because it's something that you enjoy doing. I love the new picture. I can't believe that I'll have one of those in 4.5 months!

i was going to comment on your previous post in a last ditch attenot to change your mind, but figured you had already made your decision. I enjoyed reading your blog through your pregnancy. Though I don't comment much (if at all), I have followed you for a while. I'm glad to see your back. Just don't go changing your mind again!

Thanks! I'm not worthy of these comments, but it's great to hear from all of you.

Argh! Believe it or not, I was gone to a place for five days without the internet and just barely saw your posts today. I am sad if you don't blog anymore but completely understand if you do decide to do that. I recognize that what works for you sometimes works for me and sometimes doesn't. I've learned a lot from your blog about health and definitely think my next pregnancy will be different in terms of weight.

I'm glad we've been able to form a friendship through your blog. I just hope you can continue to be happy no matter what you wind up doing. I support you and will miss you greatly if you no longer post.

I'm glad you're back! I'm an avid, female runner who likes to read other female runner's blogs. Given, I think women obsess about what the scale says, myself at times too, and wish society wasn't so geared toward a certain ideal. However, I believe blogs are for expressing your feelings, and what you want to say. If you want to post something that's total truth or BS, so be it, it's your blog! People should keep rude comments to themselves. Do they think that really helps a situation? Blog on sister!

Thanks Abbie & Me.

Yeah, my scale worshiping is admittedly not the healthiest, Me. But I'm feeling pretty strong and healthy right now, so I'm not about to go changing too much.
